Herbal remedies – Hemp oil deo creme
A traditional, original recipe of a DIY deo consists of bicarbonate, corn starch and coconut oil. However, by changing the coconut oil to a more creamy shea butter it feels even more nourishing for the skin.
The essence with shea butter infused with cold-pressed ecologic oil makes the deo creamy and soft. The active ingredients bicarbonate, corn starch and essential oil acts antibacterial. The bicarbonate also neutralize scents, and corn starch absorbs the moisture from the skin. In the original recipe, almond oil, jojoba oil, or apricot kernel oil is recommended, however I have chosen the nourishing hemp seed oil - rich in essential fatty acids (omega-3) with, among other things, calcium and zinc. It also holds anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Natural deodorant original 100g
50 g Shea butter
25 g vegetable cold-pressed oil, preferably a neutral oil such as almond oil, apricot kernel oil or jojoba oil.
25 g bicarbonate
15 g organic corn starch
Ev. 0.5 ml essential tea tree oil, geranium, lavender oil, rosemary, eucalyptus globulus or lemon eucalyptus.
Ev. 0.5 ml of any fragrance or scent mixture of essential oil (in total max. 1 ml of essential oil per 100 ml)
Melt the shea butter and oil over a water bath. The shea butter melts at 35-40 degrees already, which it’s enough. Stir until everything has dissolved properly. Mix bicarbonate and corn starch. Add the melted oil mixture, stirring until everything is dissolved. Stir from time to time while the mixture cools down, and you will get a really creamy deo. When the mixture has cooled for a while, add essential oils and stir. Allow the deodorant to cool completely before scooping it into a glas jar. It can take up to 24 hours for the deo to fully set the texture The content of stable oils combined with the bicarbonate, is a very durable mixture where bacteria cannot thrive. The deo therefore lasts a long time, at least six months.
